Embrace's seizure monitoring system

Please note that Embrace2 is no longer available for purchase. We have recently launched our newest epilepsy monitoring solution, EpiMonitor, in the following countries: United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Liechtenstein, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Malta, and Finland. Please visit this page to learn more about it: What’s new on EpiMonitor. Embrace2 services (Alert App, Mate App) will remain active for current users. The Empatica Support Team will continue to provide support for all Embrace2 users.

Embrace’s seizure monitoring is based on an algorithm we have developed that is designed to recognize unusual movements and that takes into consideration electrodermal activity variation and peripheral temperature associated with a possible tonic-clonic seizure.

Most devices on the market consider two threads of information: duration and intensity of your movements. Instead, Embrace takes into account additional variables, such as electrodermal activity variations, that accompany tonic-clonic seizures.

In addition, we created our algorithm using advanced machine learning methods, trained on data collected in epilepsy monitoring units in hospitals.

To learn more about the algorithm Embrace uses and how the whole system works, we recommend to have a read at these articles:
