Are you a study participant?
If you are a Study Participant, contact your Administrator directly as information in the Support Center is intended for qualified researchers and healthcare professionals. Misapplying the information below may affect your data collection.

Logging in Participants to the Care App

Where the Care App and Care Portal are mentioned, the articles in the Support Center refer to both the professional Plan (Care Lab App and Care Lab Portal) and the enterprise Plan (Care App and Care Portal), unless indicated otherwise.

Once the correct Care App is installed on the participant’s smartphone and you have generated the Participant's login credentials, you can proceed with logging the participant into the Care App. Make sure that the correct app is installed on the participant’s phone depending on your plan:

If the incorrect Care App is installed, you will receive a Login failed error: 'Care does not recognize the QR code you have scanned. Please try again or get in touch with your provider if the issue persists.'

The Care App is intended for use by the study participant and the login credentials used are the Participant credentials for the app.

The Care Portal login credentials, on the other hand, are not to be used for the Care App but are intended for use by the qualified research or healthcare professional accessing the online Care Portal. Feel free to check our step-by-step guide on the setup and use of the Empatica Health Monitoring Platform.

The two options for the participant to log into the Care App are outlined below:

Logging in with the QR code

The participant login credentials include a QR code that can be easily scanned with the companion smartphone’s camera.

Once the participant is logged into the Care App, follow the in-app instructions to pair EmbracePlus. Make sure to keep EmbracePlus right next to the smartphone.

If there are multiple EmbracePlus devices available onsite, you may have to choose from a list of devices during the pairing. Verify the EmbracePlus serial number by checking the bottom of the EmbracePlus pod.

After the successful pairing, read the onboarding guide to make sure that EmbracePlus is worn correctly.
