How to request data deletion

Where the Care App and Care Portal are mentioned, the articles in the Support Center refer to both the professional Plan (Care Lab App and Care Lab Portal) and the enterprise Plan (Care App and Care Portal), unless indicated otherwise.

The availability of Care Portal access on enterprise is defined by the study configuration. For further information on your study configuration, talk to your Study team or account manager.

 

The Care App is the companion smartphone application to EmbracePlus. It is the link between EmbracePlus and the Empatica Cloud, securely transmitting the collected physiological data via the smartphone’s internet connection.

The data collected does not include any personal or identifiable information.
The collected physiological data is linked to a Participant ID, which cannot be matched with the individuals physically wearing the device. Empatica does not have access to personal data from study participants, so data is effectively anonymous.

 

If you are a Study Participant and seek to have your physiological data deleted from our services, please contact your Administrator or the Study Team directly. The information in the Support Center is intended for qualified researchers and healthcare professionals using the Empatica Health Monitoring Platform. Misapplying the information below may affect your data collection.

 

If you are a Research Professional and need to facilitate a data deletion request, please contact our support team at research-support@empatica.com.

While we can delete collected physiological data from the Empatica Cloud, please note that the Participant ID entry in the Care Portal will remain and cannot be deleted.
In your email, include all pertinent details related to the request, such as the Participant Full ID, the time range of data to be deleted, and the reason for the data deletion request.

Once the data deletion request is submitted, our team will review it promptly. We will communicate with you directly to confirm receipt of the request and provide any additional instructions or clarifications as needed.
