How to change your EpiMonitor band

This article applies only to individuals who purchased the EmbracePlus in Europe on or after April 29, 2025, or in the US and UK on or after June 23, 2025. Please note that EmbracePlus devices purchased before these dates cannot have their bands replaced, as the sensors are integrated into the band. Please refer to the picture below. If your band is broken and you require a replacement watch, please contact us via this form.

If you would like to wash your band or switch it out with a new one, you can easily remove it from the watch by following the below steps.

To remove the stretchable band:

1. Insert the spring bar removal tool between the watch band and watch shoulders.
2. Apply pressure on the tool towards the band until it releases.
3. Slide out the band, and repeat the process on the other side.

To insert a new stretchable band:

1. Insert and slide the pins through the loops.
2. Place the bottom end of the spring bar into the hole and keep it in place.
3. Compress the spring bar to fit in the opposite hole, then release.

Please note that the spring bar removal tool is only included with the purchase of an additional band; it is not provided with the EmbracePlus purchase, and we do not sell the tool separately. If you don’t own a spring bar removal tool, you can find one at any watch store or online. Alternatively, you can use your fingernails to compress the spring following the above steps. You can also order an extra band from our Online Store, which will automatically come with the tool.

The spring bar tool is a choking hazard, and should be kept out of reach of small children.

It is highly recommended to use only Empatica's official bands with the EmbracePlus device, as biocompatibility tests have only been conducted with our bands. Since EmbracePlus is an FDA-cleared medical device, using non-official bands may affect its performance and safety. If you choose to replace the band with a third-party option, please note that Empatica will not be held responsible for any issues or malfunctions that may occur as a result.
