The Empatica provisioned phone is only available with the enterprise Plan. (Care App and Care Portal).
When setting up an Empatica provisioned phone, there are a few initial steps to complete before using it. These steps ensure the device is functioning correctly and ready for pairing an Empatica Wearable.
This guide outlines the basic setup process to help you get started quickly and smoothly.
- Start by powering on the Empatica provisioned phone
- Keep the phone on charge for at least 30 minutes
- If any updates appear, follow the prompts to install them. This ensures the device has the latest software.
- Review these essential settings to ensure the device is ready for use

Check that Data Roaming is on:
Settings > Connections > Mobile networks -
Confirm that at least one APN is present:
Settings > Connection > Mobile networks > Access point names
Reach out to the Empatica Support Team if the APN list is empty. -
Confirm the clock shows your local time.
If it doesn’t, ensure that Automatic date, time, and time zone are all enabled:
Settings > General management> Date and time > Enable all the toggles

Make sure the Care App is up-to-date:
- Tap on the gear icon in the top-right corner of the home screen and select the first option
- Go back to the home screen, tap on Care
- Check the app version at the bottom; it should be version 5.75.2 or higher before enrolling a participant
