E4 Sunsetting - FAQs

We are sunsetting our legacy research wearable, the E4 wristband, to make room for more powerful technology, bringing our real-world research suite to EmbracePlus.

Will you be producing any more E4 wristbands in the future?

Currently, Empatica does not plan on having any further E4 devices in stock. This is to give space to our new technology, EmbracePlus.

 

Can I purchase refurbished devices?

Empatica does not sell any refurbished E4 devices.

 

Can I still buy E4 accessories?

The E4 is retiring to give space to our new technology, the EmbracePlus.

Currently, Empatica does not plan on restocking the E4 device accessories. Once the E4 accessories go out of stock on the Online Store, they will no longer be available for purchase.

 

Can I still access the E4 Software Suite? For how long?

Although the E4 itself is retiring, the E4 wristband software suite (E4 connect, E4 manager, E4 realtime app, E4 streaming server, and E4 SDK) will remain available to access. Access will be available until August 2024. The Empatica Support Team will continue to provide support for the software suite during this time.

 

For how long will Empatica perform maintenance on the software?

Although the E4 itself is retiring, the E4 wristband software suite (E4 connect, E4 manager, E4 realtime app, E4 streaming server, and E4 SDK) will continue to undergo routine maintenance by our Developers. Scheduled maintenance will be performed until August 2024. The Empatica Support Team will continue to provide support for the software suite during this time.

 

For how long will Empatica perform repairs?

All devices within the 1-year warranty period will continue to be serviced, and the cost covered by Empatica.

Due to limited component availability, it is possible that Empatica will not be able to perform specific repairs.
