Once you’ve completed the purchase of your EpiMonitor pack, it’s time to create your EpiMonitor account.
If you owned or still own an Embrace2, please be aware that the old login credentials and subscription will not be valid for using EpiMonitor. You will need to go through these steps in order to be able to use the system.

After purchasing your EpiMonitor device, you will receive an email with a link to the EpiMonitor Account creation and your Activation Code.
You will need the Activation Code later to complete the account creation procedure.

To create your account, click the link you received in the purchase confirmation email or visit epimonitor.empatica.com/signup.
This account will be used to log into the EpiMonitor App on the smartphone of the person being monitored. The email address you use doesn’t need to match the one used to purchase EpiMonitor.
When you start the account creation, the first thing you’ll be asked for is the email address of the EpiMonitor user.Please remember that this email address will be used to log in EpiMonitor app, so make sure to choose an active email address that you use daily to also receive communications from Empatica about EpiMonitor.

Next, you’ll be asked to choose your password. Please make sure to follow the requirements for the password creation. You can see a criterion is met when the checkmark turns green.
- At least 12 characters
- At least 3:
- lowercase letters (a-z)
- uppercase letters (A-Z)
- numbers (0-9)

special characters (e.g.: !@#$%^&*)
- At this point, you’ll see a page saying ‘Verify your email’.
Check your inbox for an email from Empatica with a link to verify your email address. Make sure to click on 'Verify email' to confirm and proceed.
Make sure to check the Spam folder of your mailbox to avoid losing communications from Empatica about EpiMonitor!
In case you haven’t received the email, on the browser page you can either ‘Resend’ the verification email or ‘Create a new account’ in case the email address you entered is not the one you would like your account to be connected to.
- After verifying your email and logging back into your EpiMonitor Account page, you will be asked some questions about the EpiMonitor user to tailor the account configuration and the EpiMonitor experience to your specific needs.
First, you will be asked who is the person that needs seizure monitoring.
You can select between Myself or Someone I take care of.

Select Myself if you’re the one who needs seizure monitoring and going through the configuration on your own.

Select Someone I take care of if you’re configuring EpiMonitor on behalf of someone else (i.e. your kids, your siblings, your parents, etc.)
Please note that in this case, the email address used in this process should be the one of the EpiMonitor user.Pick the option that aligns with your needs and move on to the next steps:

- If you select Myself, you’ll be asked to input your personal information. Fill the form with all the required data.
- The last question will be: ‘Are you an independent user or do you require support from a Legal Guardian to use this service?’. For more information on what is a Legal Guardian and how it is managed inside EpiMonitor, please refer to this article: Legal Guardian
A Legal Guardian will be required in case the user is a resident in the US and younger than 13 years old, or when the user of the device requires support to complete the process and use the system.
- Select Independent User, if you’re configuring the device by yourself and you’re older than 13 years old.
- Select Require support, if you need help in going through the configuration process. You’ll be asked for the personal information of the Legal Guardian as shown in the screenshot below.
After adding the required information, you can click on ‘Complete profile’ to confirm the account creation procedure.
If you select Someone I take care of, the first thing you’ll be asked is “Are you the Legal Guardian of this person?”

A Legal Guardian will be required in case the user is a resident in the US and younger than 13 years old, or when the user of the device requires support to complete the process and use the system.
Here you can select one of the proposed options:
Select Yes if you're the Legal Guardian of the EpiMonitor user.
In this case, you’ll be asked to input your personal information, and the EpiMonitor user’s personal information.
Then, you can click on ‘Complete profile’ to end the procedure.
Select No if you’re not the Legal Guardian, but you are setting up the system for someone else who needs one.
In this case, you’ll be asked to input the personal information of the legal guardian and the personal information of the EpiMonitor user. You can then click on ‘Complete profile’ to end the procedure. The person selected as Legal Guardian will receive an email allowing them to consent to the role.
Select They don’t have a legal guardian if the user is older than 13 years old in the US and doesn’t require assistance to complete the process and use EpiMonitor.
In this case, you’ll be asked to insert the personal information of the EpiMonitor user to complete the profile creation.
Activate your subscription
Now that you’ve created your account, the next step is to activate your subscription and start monitoring.
Simply prepare your activation code and select I have an activation code on the page that loads.
The activation code will be provided by the reseller after purchasing the EpiMonitor pack
A window will appear where you can enter your activation code in the designated field.
When you select Activate Subscription, a page from our payment platform, Stripe, will open, prompting you to enter your payment method details.
Note for UK Users: The first year of your subscription is prepaid at the time of purchase. Your payment method will only be required for subscription renewal, which occurs one year after the activation date.
After entering your billing information, click Activate Subscription Now. You will be redirected to your EpiMonitor account page, where you can view the status of your subscription.
